Deborah Rentz-Moore ~ Mezzo-Soprano
Hailed for her "deep, honeyed voice" (Graham Watts, Ballet.com Magazine), mezzo-soprano Deborah Rentz-Moore performs with some of the most celebrated ensembles in North America, including the Handel & Haydn Society, Emmanuel Music, The Boston Camerata, The Boston Early Music Festival, Aston Magna, New York Collegium and Magnificat. She also works with esteemed Boston-area groups such as the Newton Choral Society, Masterworks Chorale, Chorus Pro Musica, Back Bay Chorale, The Harvard Chorus, Ensemble Très. and Musicians of the Old Post Road.
Although a specialist in early music, she performs opera, oratorio, chamber music and contemporary music. In addition to today's performance with Très., Ms. Rentz-Moore's season includes Bach Cantatas with the Newton Choral Society, Charpentier's Judicium Salomonis at Boston College, "Vieni Imeneo" with Boston Camerata, Baroque solo cantatas and Christmas music with Musicians of the Old Post Road, Early American music with Ensemble Phoenix Munich, Mozart's Requiem with The Harvard Chorus/Pro Arte Orchestra, Handel's "Dixit Dominus" with Chorus Pro Musica and John Gay's "The Beggar's Opera" with Aston Magna. This June, Ms. Rentz-Moore will appear as "Virtue" in the Boston Early Music Festival production of Monteverdi's "L'Incoronazione di Poppea."
Her recordings include music of Cozzolani and Bach on the Musica Omnia label, Shaker songs on the Glissando label, baroque holiday selections with Très., Monteverdi's Orfeo with Aston Magna (Centaur) and choral masterpieces with Handel & Haydn Society on Arie Records. A recording of Spanish baroque holiday music (Meridian) was just released in December 2008.
